MIniature Figure Collectors of America Show 2014
Pat Deluhery and I set up a figure display at the 74th Miniature Figure Collectors of America show, May 2014, at Valley Forge. We split the award for best toy soldier display.
I also had on display a Painted bust of Monty as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings. To add some interest I posed him with some King & Country WWII English Pipers.
I have been mixing the 2 art forms of Painted busts with commercial pieces in displays as can be seen below in this display of WWII Leaders

Tribute to Boston Strong
A figure of Cy Young I recently painted and mounted as a tribute to Boston Strong. It is a 90mm resign casting sculpted by Bill Horan some time in the 90's. I painted it in artist oils over an acrylic undercoat , painted the Boston Strong logo and then mounted on a base ball kicknack I got at Hobby Lobby and then on an antique brass lamp base I got at a flea market.
This piece will be my entry in the 73rd annual Miniature Figure Collectors of America show this May at Valley Forge

Shallow shelf vignettes
Trying some vignette combinations that would fit on very shallow shelves
This is a train of British and Colonial wagons coming up on an Indian Village during the French & Indian War
This one is looking from inside the Alamo at some defenders awaiting the next attack
I have also been playing around with painting backdrops. The one here doesn't fit this specific shelf but I can easily paint one that does

Gettysburg 150th figures
Not necessarily Gettysburg, but a couple weeks later the 54th Mass Volunteer Infantry attacked Battery Wagner in Charlestown SC. These figures are my tribute to that piece of "Glory" The bust is SGT William Carney who was the first African=American awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, for duty above and beyond.
